Gen 4 is honestly my favorite Generation of Pokemon. From Pokemon Diamond being one of my favorites, to Heartgold literally being my favorite Pokemon game of all time, Gen 4 was honestly stacked to be the best gen ever.

I'm probably one of the few folks who played Chain of Memories before KH2 because I had the GBA version. Technically I even played that before I played KH1 because I didn't get a PS2 until like... 2007? 2008? Thereabouts. But my older cousin had played KH1 and recorded all of the cutscenes onto a VHS tape for me and my other cousin who was my same age and we watched it together one summer when I was staying over. So I knew what was going on, but because I didn't have a PS2 in 2004 when Chain of Memories first released but I DID have a GBA SP... well. Guess what I got in the summer of 2005? 😄 Also yes, I absolutely want to see her play the wacky card game. It'll be great entertainment lol

Trying to get used to a new controller with very different buttons is real. I had that issue when playing Final Fantasy 7 on the PS2, and kept accidentally exiting out of stuff instead of confirming (because the PS1 button scheme was baxkward). Honestly, in cases like these, it might be better to let her change button configurations if possible. I think she should play the other main KH stuff before tackling KH3, since KH3 is really supposed to be the finale to several ongoing KH storylines, not just the main one. Though you could just watch the cutscenes for 358/2 Days, and the KH mobile game stuff might be better saved for after KH3 since that seems to be more connected to future KH plots.

I grew up with 90s FPS games. When Half-Life came out, it was like an atom bomb went off. I was so immersed with the intro, that when the accident happened and the screen went black, I was actually breathing the same as Gordon. It actually freaked me out more. The jump scares worked so well, and the sound design was amazing. I think to truly appreciate the game, you almost need to start with older games like Wolfenstein 3d, Doom, Duke Nukem 3d, and Quake.
